Regular use of the drug pantoprazole has been linked to bloating. One study found that after 8 weeks, 43% of people taking esomeprazole, which is a proton pump inhibitor like pantoprazole, had bloating. By 6 months, more than half of the people had bloating. Some of the other side effects of pantoprazole that are similar to bloating are flatulence, abdominal pain, and diarrhoea. When you have bloating, your stomach may feel tight, full, or swell up.
